Blessed

Day 1
Ash Wednesday

Blessed

‘Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.

 Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.

Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.’

Matthew 5:3-7

Spend time soaking in the Beatitudes with the poem and video below.

Reflect on how different the picture they paint of blessing is to that in the world around us.

Journal Journey

What does it mean for you to see yourself and your circumstances as blessed?

How does this challenge you idea of blessing?

Try re-writing the Beatitudes in your own words.

Which of these beatitudes most speaks to you right now?

How would your life be different if you allowed one of these to re-frame your life?
